Yo, dudes, I have some unsolicited advice. A note to all readers- I'm not talking to anyone specifically- mostly mom pages- just trying help some fellow dudes out.
Let's check out a note from the American Psychology's guide to writing: A term must be fully written the first time it is used, thereafter just the acronym is used.
PLEASE take note of this, fellow bloggers.
I just visited this blog and was thrilled that she defined the acronym that her blog was about- trying to conceive (TTC.)
Kudos to Mother's Hideaway- here's my take on defining acronyms:
Sure, there are going to be exceptions- after many posts or in comments in a forum- acronym away! BUT- blog posts- you have to imagine your readers are NEW every time. That is, if you want new readers to become old readers.
Here's a funny little link about acronyms- how the HECK am up supposed to know that HEA is what it is? Sheesh.

Finally! Someone puts the definition with their acronym (TTC.) I never know what they mean and leave the blog feeling inferior. Not this time!
These acronyms make me feel like I’m not part of your girls’ club…so please…even if it’s a common one and you list it time after time after time, just like in academic writing, define it the first time in the post (FTITP) and use if from then on. Otherwise, you alienate your readers…and they don’t come back!
