If there was ever a question...

There's NO doubt where this baby came from.

One of Todd's buddies made a "funny" joke on Facebook about Maks looking like the milk man. There's nothing a woman who just gave birth two days before loves MORE than someone suggesting that her newborn doesn't belong to her husband. Real nice.

Dad's lips and his playoff beard. He doesn't watch hockey...BUT now he's afraid if he shaves Maks won't recognize him. He's cute, right?

Maks's lips. My boys' smoochers rival Mick Jagger's kisser.

So let's talk about yesterday's beer. Talk about mommy guilt! Not only was Todd NOT able to enjoy it with me (he got heartburn IMMEDIATELY- note to self: #1, we're getting old. #2, don't store good beer in the fridge for 8+ months) but when Maks woke up and I gave him his pre-pumped bottle, he spit quite a bit of it up. It wasn't his first bottle but even the slow flow nipple flows more quickly than the boob and my little guy is an all star nurser so he ate 3+ ounces in about ten minutes.

There's a lot of information out there about nursing. This week I came across this site and found it to be, although lengthy, the most informative site out there. KellyMom.com is good, but it isn't as thorough as this one page- Mother2Mother is like a cheat sheet for pumping.

I got to talking with Lauren last night and I told her about the beer and we shared the same sentiments- of course I want to live my life and not become a person who only lived for her children BUT I'm the only person who can nurse my son and I don't want to do anything that compromises this. I did a little more reading about slow flow nipples- I have Dr. Brown and Medela but read that Playtex is a little slower. We'll see about that.

Maks is a little disorganized today so right now he's sleeping on my chest. (I've tried to put him down four times, each time he's woken up...he's also not eaten more than seven minutes, last feeding, with boob in mouth he barfed ALL OVER US BOTH. Projectile breast milk. Neat.) So, I'm sitting on the couch typing and watching Martha and he's getting the best sleep he's had all day. I texted (spell check, get with the 2010s) Lauren about the disorganized baby and her remedy for him: bath and a swaddled time out. Makes me laugh. Time out for a two week old.

Todd has a half day in honor of the holiday weekend and we had plans to get out to BJs so we can start buying dry goods in bulk and I wanted to check out Aldi. I read a review about the grocery store on Yelp after seeing a commercial on TV and in the name of our new life and addition and spending less money...we're taking a trip to Aldi in Collingdale. I like weird and off brand items! Aldi here comes the Kurps! Please see statement above about getting old...my big trip out is a trip to the grocery store.

Oy vey.
